Nowadays it is difficult to travel abroad, so I would like to look back on my past trips and remind myself of my overseas mood.
First of all, from Dunedin, which I visited for the first time two years ago!
What kind of place is Dunedin?
Dunedin (English: Dunedin [dʌˈniːdɪn] (audio file), Maori: Ōtepoti) is a city located in the Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. The population is 130,700 (as of June 2018). It is the fifth largest population in New Zealand and the second largest in the South Island after Christchurch. 22% of the local population is students, and 45% are young people under the age of 30.

Dunedin is a city created by Scottish immigrants in the 19th century.
The name Dunedin is said to mean Edinburgh in their Gaelic language.
Among the cities I visited in New Zealand, I feel that it has a particularly European feel. (I have only been to England though... 😅)
The building and atmosphere of the University of Otago in the city is also the foreign country!
Actually, my Russian friend also lives in Dunedin, but she also said that Dunedin has a close atmosphere to Europe and likes it.
When I visited in 2019, it was 2 nights and 3 days, so I couldn't go around so many places, but here are some of the things that impressed me!
Dunedin train station

Dunedin Railway Station
First up is the city's symbolic Dunedin Railway Station.
Railroads are not a major mode of transportation in New Zealand.
There are many highway buses, cars, and planes called Coach to move between towns. (Although some people commute to work or school by ferry in Auckland!)
Currently, this station is the departure and arrival point for tourist trains to the Taieri Valley.
Recommended points
Platform with a total length of 1 km
The length of the platform of the station is 1 km!
It will be a runway during Fashion Week.
The fine decoration inside the station building is also very beautiful.

There is also a gift shop inside the station.
I'm sorry I didn't have a photo, but I was dealing with a lot of works by local artists.
There are a wide variety of paintings, postcards, coasters, magnets, etc.
Please visit and find your favorite!
